About our batts
A bit of a disclaimer on my batts –
These batts are made from a mix of all different fiber preps including commercial combed top, commercially prepared locks, hand washed + processed locks, and wool waste. There are a mix of staple lengths and prep types buried within these batts. As a result, these batts probably won't (definitely won't) be the smoothest spin you've ever had – but that's ok! What I love about the batts that I make is the heathering and depth of texture you get. You can spin them as is for a slightly slubby, mixed texture yarn, or you can blend further to remove some of the inconsistencies. I absolutely love the yarn I'm able to get spinning these as is, but I know the experience may not be for everyone. You will also definitely find hay and other bits – again, much of this wool comes from minimally processed raw wool. I do my best to pull out what I can through the process, but much of it continues to fall out through the spinning and knitting.
I hope you'll enjoy the unique texture you'll get from these batts as much as I do.
